Feature and Follow Friday: Trading Places

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison can Read

This week's question: Tell us about a book character you’d trade places with – Suggested by Escaping Within Pages

My Response

This is actually a hard one because I read a lot of dystopia and I know very few (if any) people I would actually trade places with in a dystopia setting. I decided to go with Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. Why would I not want to trade places with her.

Ahem. What was that? Ofcourse I had to find a picture of her reading. It would be criminal not to use it! :P Elizabeth Bennet has the elegance of a true lady, unmatched wit, intelligence, independence, and did I mention she gets to marry Mr. Darcy? Not to mention living in that household would be hilarious! I might even get the chance to give Wickham a piece of my mind (in an elegant fashion ofcourse) Yup! I think trading places with her would be quite a good trade.

What about you guys? Who would you trade places with?

  1. Yes, Elizabeth Bennet! I wouldn't mind taking her place either. I had a few characters in mind too, but then remember what awful things they had to endure which made me change my mind. But your pick is absolutely perfect.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I would never want to go through the things that some of my favorite characters go through. Trading places with them sounds good in theory, but in the end, I'd probably end up dead. Elizabeth Bennet. Well, that's a life I can cope with. Married to Mr. Darcy? Sign me up!

  3. I hold out my wrists so you all can slap them, but I haven't read Pride and Prejudice :-( . . . .I was completely turned off Austen after reading Emma and as I got older I hoped it might be something I'd grow into . . . . . .

    1. Oh goodness, you started with Emma? Oh gosh! You should've started with Pride and Prejudice, so you could get to swoon over Mr. Darcy with me. Thanks for the follow! Following back right now.

  4. I had a difficult time picking a character because I too read a lot of books where not so great stuff happens to the characters. I haven't read anything by Jane Austen but this would be the book I chose if I was going to.

    1. My heart is breaking by everyone saying they haven't read Jane Austen. Pride and Prejudice would be a good choice to start *hint* *hint* Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Hi, I'm a new Bloglovin' follower. Elizabeth Bennett is a great character but I don't think I could live in the world of Pride and Prejudice for long. I'd miss wearing jeans too much!

    1. I love wearing jeans too, but those dresses are so long that I don't think I'd mind them. They cover everything that needs to be covered, and that's the reason I love to wear jeans (and the fact that I can high-kick as freely as I want) Thanks for stopping by! :) *hugs*

  6. Hey Monique! Thanks for visiting my blog! I really like your choice; I admire Elizabeth Bennet; she's so smart and she loves to read books! Plus, Mr. Darcy is handsome and rich, and Europe seems like a beautiful place to live in, so yeah!

I would trade places with Katsa from Graceling by Kristin Cashore though. She's Graced with exceptional fighting skills, is strong and hard-headed, and she get's to be with the handsome Lienid prince and explore the lands, going on heroic quests. Sounds like an adventurous life :)
