Feature A Blogger: Vi!

Please welcome Vi from She-Read to the blog!

What do you mainly blog about, and why?
I’ve had a blog and website in some form or another since 2002 She Became A Butterfly I used to chronicle daily life before there was such a thing as a “Lifestyle Blogger.” I was ahead of my time. ;) This past year, I fell into the world of book reviewing and blogging, and that’s all I do at the moment. I’ve always been a voracious reader with aspirations to write, so being a book blogger just feels right at the moment.

What Faction would you most likely belong to, and why?
As a book blogger, I tend to stick to the YA and New Adult scene. I do enjoy a good thriller (love Lisa Gardner) and a good women’s friendship novel (like Summer Sistersby Judy Blume) from time to time as well. I like realistic stories, maybe because I’d like to believe the events in them could really happen to me. I don’t connect with Sci-Fi and Fantasy for some reason, so I stick to what I like.

Occupation?
I sell Insurance with my Musical Theatre degree. LOL! I also have a side business selling Disney Autograph Books and Golden Book Journals on Etsy. In my free time, I choreograph dance numbers in musicals. I’m choreographing White Christmas and dancing in it at the moment.

What was your favorite book to read while growing up?
While The Indian in the Cupboard by Ellen Reid Banks and Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit were favorites, The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin was the first book that fully sucked me in to the world of mystery. I loved the intricate riddles and puzzles contained in the book, and although it’s middle-reader level, I still read it every once in awhile as an adult. It never gets old to me.

Favorite Quote?
Oh Mr. Darcy . . .
"In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

Which fictional Character do you identify with the most?
Elizabeth Bennet! While she’s perfectly adept at social interaction and the proprieties of life, she would give the shirt off her back for anyone and always stands up for the underdog, even at the expense of herself. I see a lot of myself in her.

What's one question nobody ever asks you, but you wish they would? Now Answer it! :)
What is your latest favorite book?
It’s I See London by Chanel Cleeton. Here’s my review! If you like Anna and the French Kiss . . . I think this one is better!

Share a Fun Fact:
Um, I have 2 betta fish on my desk at work. Not sure if that’s fun, but Oscar and Violet are AWESOME!
